Holistic Change

"Jacque Fresco is an engineer, a designer and an innovator, that deals with physical structures, towards an attainable future! Jacque Fresco does not and has not shown the capacity, to understand the role of the social cultural movement, in this period, of our history, his comments amplifies it, in fact, his mechanical view impedes him, to grasp the oneness of this project!"
- Hans Roy

As some of you already know, that has been one of my concerns. The lack of understanding not just from Jacqu...

2002 US Total health spending and compare that to the new cases of breast cancer in the US

Posted by Roberto Enamorado on Sunday, April 3, 2011, In : Health

I can see why doing fund raisers for benevolent causes can give people a wonderful feeling and is a wonderful idea in the intention but, there is something terribly wrong happening here.

Look at the total health spending and compare that to the new cases of breast cancer in the US. Also compare that to the Asian countries on the left. Although this problem has several factors that go unexplored in this example, I hope you can see the value in what this shows. www.bit.ly/hPBxQr

Cows on Drugs

Stanford, Calif.

NOW that Congress has pushed through its complicated legislation to reform the health insurance system, it could take one more simple step to protect the health of all Americans. This one wouldn’t raise any taxes or make any further changes to our health insurance system, so it could be quickly passed by Congress with an outpouring of bipartisan support. Or could it?

More than 30 years ago, when I was commissioner o...

Blah We Can Believe In

Posted by Roberto Enamorado on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, In : Politics

What did you vote for?

Mr. Oblahma What happened to all the talks about racism?

Did you really think that was going to be addressed?

What happened to corporate accountability (oh thats right, the best of Wall Street is now running our country)?

Why won't the president mention building number seven (instead of sounding like a charismatic right wing Fox news reporter)?

Why hasn't he completely abolished the Patriot Act (not that you ever had rights, you've just never been targeted by the establish...

A Thank You Note

Posted by Roberto Enamorado on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, In : Health

Industrialized nations around the world have left us behind in the capacity to take care of its own citizens. Even Cuba, which is smashed by conservative media and has far less resources, has universal healthcare and has dealt with homelessness exceptionally well. This is clearly a sign of how submissive our government has become in facing corporations and when making enough effort to make a change and really work for that, it can happen even when your resources are scarce. It is not fair tha...

Wake up and fight the power!!! Triclosan, EPA, Monsanto, Cancer, Patents and More...One Big Happy Family

Posted by Roberto Enamorado on Monday, March 28, 2011, In : In The Name of Profit

I am concerned about the push for triclosan, an active ingredient in anti-bacterial products. Using something in 'moderation' is up for interpretation, yet experts will continue to use these terms when using such an active substance. Along with all the gm foods we have been eating, what this will do in the long term is it will set a nation up to be less reactive to antibiotics. So why push a product that in the long term makes antibiotics less effective? Also, "Reports have suggested that tri...

Swine flu a national emergency?

Posted by Roberto Enamorado on Monday, March 28, 2011, In : In The Name of Profit

The power of big pharma and the puppets in office - Hospitals could modify patient rules — for example, requiring them to give less information during a hectic time — to quicken access to treatment, with government approval, under the declaration. ---> 36,000 - 40,000 people die from seasonal flu every year. 1000 people die from swine flu and Obama declares swine flu a national emergency? This is one of the first steps in a global push on another corporate/government product/investment. S...

Venceremos Brigade

Posted by Roberto Enamorado on Monday, March 28, 2011, In : Activism
What is the Venceremos Brigade?

In 1969, a coalition of young people formed the Venceremos ("We Shall Overcome") Brigade, as a means of showing solidarity with the Cuban Revolution by working side by side with Cuban workers and challenging U.S. policies towards Cuba, including the economic blockade and our government’s ban on travel to the island. The first Brigades participated in sugar harvests and subsequent Brigades have done agricultural and construction work in many parts of the island...

My First Trip to the IFC (International Film Center)

Posted by Roberto Enamorado on Monday, March 28, 2011, In : Film

The IFC (International Film Center) is a small theater located in the west village. I was there to see "Crude – The Real Price of Oil" a film by Joe Berlinger. That afternoon, the IFC was having two of the film contributors as guests for a Q & A after the film. Before the film started they had a slide show of previous guests they’ve had at the theater, which I thought was kinda interesting. After that they displayed a very cool short film, on an artist’s work from beginning to end of e...

What Culture Pirates Means to Me

 The Cycle

The items in the first characters mouth represent consumption. Left simplistic, leaving room for interpretation as to what consumption means to you. With so many items being consumed at once, the character’s jaw is broken and the face disfigured. The tear of blood represents, the spikes of cancer rates, obesity, asthma, disease overall, pollution, the displacement of millions of people in order to build dams, wars, extinction. With all that, in pain, the character gives all its...
